Biography

Marie Vetrò, born in 1993, grew up between Piedmont Langhe Region and the Provencal town of Aix en Provence, where her father's family lives. 

Strongly influenced by the artistic context present in the city of Paul Cezanne, since childhood she shows a deep desire to express herself through drawing, painting and photography. 

During her adolescence she became so interested in Design and Fashion that at the age of 16 she applied for a summer specialization course at the Institut Français de la Mode and successfully participated in it. 

This was only the first of several stays in Paris. 

The young girl, in fact, while graduating in foreign languages, makes several trips to the French capital during which he is passionate, among others, the painting of the great artist Henri Matisse from which it will always draw great joy and inspiration especially for the use of bright colors and brilliant.

 

At the end of high school she began to dedicate herself as a self-taught painter in order to express what she would later define "vital impulses" or pure emotions expressed instinctively on canvas.

 

Marie conceives art as a creation in which people of all kinds and backgrounds can recognize themselves and share an emotion and a lived experience, for this reason she chooses to use strong colors, direct, that transmit an immediate feeling to the observer of the canvas itself; she looks for inspiration in real and daily life, although the paintings seem to come to life in a dreamlike atmosphere.

 

The emerging artist presents herself to the art world at the age of 26 by participating at the collective exhibition in Milan - Amars. Here she proposes the canvas Kairos et Chronos, inspired by the ancient Greek concept of time, depicting a naked couple passionately embraced where Chronos corresponds to the man and Kairos to the woman. 

 

After this first experience she participates in several exhibitions in Italy in Milan collaborating also with several galleries and partners, including Huawei and finally in Rome, where she presents her work at the collective exhibition curated by art critic Vittorio Sgarbi in June 2021 at the Russian Embassy.

 

In 2022 she partecipate at the international art event Art3f Paris at Porte de Versailles in Paris.

Then she has several exhibition in Milan but also in Barcelona in March 2023. In 2024 she exhibited in Milan in January then start organizing also some intuitive painting nights events.

Now she's working on a new approach and media and she will show her new works by the end of the year.
